About
Hi, I'm Jeff. I have been a software engineer professionally for over 17 years. I also enjoy and tinker with agriculture, cidermaking, and food preservation on the side these days.
I have a longstanding passion for lower level system software development primarily in C, C++, and C#. I'm particularly fond of software projects involving hardware and I work on hobby projects with cheap low power microcontrollers like AVRs every once in a while. Over the past decade, I've also contributed heavily to every role commonly involved with designing, building, and scaling up modern web services—every step from infrastructure build-out to deployed application. Most of my web backend work has been with stacks centered around C#, Python, and JavaScript.
I also occasionally find time to contribute to open source software.
As time permits, my more recent public contributions have been focused on:
- drover, an open source AWS Lambda deployment tool
- monocat, an open source GitHub release and release asset management tool
Some of my other public contributions are available on GitHub.
